Our business is named after the Mastos hill.
The Mycenaean Road that passes through Prosymna is a testament to the significance this furtile valley held since the time of Asterion. His three daughters, Evia, Akraia and Prosymna, were the wet nurses of the goddess Hera and brought her up with special and unique foods.
The Mastos area has been inhabited since the neolithic period as evidence discovered in the area suggests. The settlement thrived during the Late Helladic period (sometimes called the Mycenaean Age) and seems to follow the decline of Mycenae after the Dorian Invasion.
Archaeological finds from the Mastos area are on display at the Archeological Museum of Nafplio.

A few words about us
Our story began in the autumn of 2013 in the renowned Prosymna (the base of operations for Mastos) located roughly 14 kilometers northeast of Argos.
It is here that a small family business is born creating sweet preserves and homemade jams always following traditional unaltered recipes and using fresh seasonal fruit and no preservatives.
Mastos jams and sweet preserves combine natural, soft yet at the same time intense notes.
We choose fine fruits of the Mycenaean land supporting small local farmers who love and respect nature and avoid the use of fertilizer and chemicals. This is how Mastos ensures the guaranteed excellent quality of its products.
Mastos takes great care to showcase the natural characteristics of each fruit during processing and to accompany them with soft notes of sweet-scented geranium, vanilla and other elements of nature.
And since nutrition and health go hand in hand, Mastos has managed to maintain a balance in its products which make them good for both our bodies and our tastebuds.
About me…
I grew up in a historic little village, Prosymna, listening to stories from my grandparents and surrounded by fragrant sweets and delectable jams. I learned that it’s not only the sun, the earth, the season or the perfect picking time that make fruit unique but also the care, love and attention we give them.
I graduated from the Alexander Technological Educational Institute of Thessaloniki (now the International Hellenic University), Department of Nutrition and Dietetics. My extended stay there exposed me to new foods and gave me new knowledge and ideas based on the traditions and background of multicultural Thessaloniki. My trips to Macedonia, Evia, the Peloponnese as well as the rest of Greece gifted me with valuable information about traditional sweet preserves and jams.
Packed with knowledge and childhood memories dipped in fragrant scents, I decided along with my family to found our business, Mastos.
With my mother’s, Kyriaki’s, help, who is the brain and soul of our workshop, we put our love and care into the sweet delicacies hidden in our glass jars. These small jars capture the fruits of the Greek land mixed with our love and imagination.
We are now proud to present to you 22 different traditional sweet preserves and 20 different types of fine jams while at the same time continuing to enrich our range of quality products with special new additions and one of a kind sweet temptations!
